Artists
The Twoks
Xani brings her very individual style to the forefront with her violin playing - she truly does not sound like any other violinist around. With her use of effects pedals and her gorgeous clear voice backed up by a steady rhythm section, if you love discovering people with new ideas in pop music, then this is the band to pay attention to.
R!
R! perform songs by Hanna Silver and our singer who has the most gorgeous voice, Sarah Baxter, and our most talented guitarist, Max Walker. Our brand of 'rocky grooves' would be nothing without our afro haired bassist, Alex Burkoy and dreaded haired drummer, Chris Duffy.
Francolin
Francolin are the freshest indie band in Melbourne. Featuring great voices, a trumpeter and a great female guitarist, they are a great indie band.
Rapskallion
A colourful and fantastic local gypsy band who are starting to really pull in the audiences at their shows. Their mix of gypsy, Turkish (with a smattering of punk sensibility) is infectious, and very danceable.
Ponzu Island
Super Locomotive are really something. Super Locomotive are vintage synthesizers, samples, live drums and electric guitar, playing sweet pop music that will warm your heart and entertain you.
Hanna Silver (solo)
Hanna began performing solo with one vintage 70s synthesizer, a delay pedal and a loop pedal earlier this year. Until the end of 2004 Hanna was a classical pianist (finished up at the VCA) but has since moved on to improvisation, and discovered a love for synths.
Kate Vigo & the Underground Orchestra
The beautiful Kate Vigo is starting to garner a massive reputation around Melbourne, and her latest single 'The Way You Are' is receiving plenty of attention from the industry and fans alike. Her new album is due in a few months' time and here's your chance to see her live and free before her stardom hits.
Crackpot
I would call this performance Crackpot's re-emerging. The band is Marty Lubran, Jade D'adrenz and DJ Ransom, and they play their own style of music perfect for a summer afternoon down at the Docklands. Come and hear a band that Groove Armada and Mr. Scruff love.
Flap!
Flap will knock you off your feet, with their high energy sound. In their own words, they sound like "A bunch of travelling musicians from olden day rural America, who somehow found a time machine and ended up at a Kylie Minogue concert!".
